The Donald pounced on this issue with unrestrained enthusiasm to (1) get much needed publicity for his ‘not-so-highly’ ranked (according to Nielsen) TV show “The Apprentice” and (2) test the waters for a possible run for the presidency without having to provide any specifics on his proposals for our country. For many months this farce deflected attention from the serious issues really facing our country today.
What this really meant was that the killing of Bin Laden and the growingly heated debate over the budget and Social Security made any further discussions of President Obama’s birth certificate or education credentials seem ridiculous and absurd. Serious presidential contenders suddenly realized that they needed to start addressing the real issues important to most Americans, something The Donald seemed incapable of doing.
Make no mistake though! The Donald desperately wants to be president and might very well enter the presidential race as an Independent if the situation next year indicates that (1) he has a reasonable chance of winning and (2) he can avoid situations like interviews and debates during which he could look like a fool with some of his current political ideas.
After you have read the book, I would really like to hear your feedback, thoughts, and opinions, whether positive or negative. I realize that the book is quite short, but it had to be written and self-published quickly in order to maintain some relevancy in light of the dynamically changing nature of our political scene.

I loved this book.... Very funny and I actually laughed out loud many times. The Kenneth sizes up The Donald perfectly but manages to interweave very dry wit with relevant facts, which made this a very 'easy' read for me. I especially liked the comments on "pro life for the living".
ReplyDeleteThis book was a great little read! Containing not only amusing and sometimes downright gleeful fun-poking at the millionaire everyone loves to hate, but also thought-provoking commentary on aspects of the political scene in America today. I highly recommend it and look forward to The Kenneth's next victim... err, I mean subject! Perhaps Sarah Palin???
ReplyDeleteA rare happening...... I laughed out loud whilst reading this "little"book.
ReplyDeleteI find politics hard to understand, but no problems here, I got it !
The subject has been well researched and presented in a believable and humerous style. As a political satire it is first class and readers will enjoy "The Kenneth"s light hearted touch in presenting his thoughts. Well worth the read.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am so glad this witty book landed in my hands right after I'd lived abroad with no TV or YouTube. The Kenneth's commentary got my finger back on the pulse of today's political scene and many fascinating factors influencing the 2012 presidential race. His proposal for how Donald Trump could select a vice presidential candidate is BRILLIANT!! This is perfect travel reading because it's a great conversation starter. It's a magnet to both strangers who spy it in my purse at Starbucks and friends who see it on my coffee table...everybody wants to talk about it! With heart and humor, The Kenneth has really tapped into our sensibility and the power to connect us in a new type of political conversation!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... "The Donald" and Sarah Palin having dinner in New York City last night!! Maybe to discuss an Independent ticket for next year? Wonder who would be on top???
ReplyDeleteAuthor Sulkoski has provided a great read for the presidential election season. "The Donald" is a superb commentary of our 2011 political circumstance with "The Kenneth" illustrating, with marvelous satire, today's reality of our political choices. Although the Author may not appear on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh,he would be the ideal guest for "The Colbert Report" and "The Daily Show".

This book is both witty and a great commentary on our political times. It's insightful but not heavy-handed and i thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

This was a really funny book and I laughed out loud. The Kenneth really explains how the Donald has managed to get tons of attention out of this. I hope the Donald does run as an Independent just so Ken can write a follow-up!

Coming from Russia, I have always found American politics funny. But this book makes them even funnier. I think anyone who wants to support the Donald should read this book first!

I found this book to be a clever tongue in cheek five part essay. It is skillfully written without exaggeration or hyperbole, as the current political atmosphere is already a circus. It points out how slick our nations politics have become, using The Donald as The Example for current politicians on how they use the media. I found this little book an enjoyable, quick read.

Update on "The Donald"....Since the Republican Debate (if you want to call it that) last Monday, "The Donald" has been speaking with TV pundits and declaring how unhappy he is with the announced Republican candidates and what they are saying, and if the Republicans do not come up with a candidate and platform capable of beating Obama in 2012 that he will run as an Independent. I think that this has been his agenda all along.
ReplyDeleteJust who is this handsome, witty, humorous and charming new author we have here? His honesty is thought-provoking and written in a uniquely hilarious style. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and look forward to see what he writes next!!!
ReplyDeleteA very humorous book and easy to read and understand. Great insight on today's political situation.
ReplyDeleteThis book made me laugh, and at the same time it is very thought provoking. I really enjoyed the read and the suggestions of the author as to what makes this man tick. The United States of Trump (love it), a scary thought but stranger things have happened.... Bravo to the author. I'll look forward to the next book.
ReplyDeleteJust finished lisening to "The Donald" on CNN giving his opinion (and blame) for the financial crisis, jobs, taxes, and the current political situation. Sure sounds like he is positioning himself to run for President as an Independent in 2008. He's playing it cool by blaming and criticizing Obama and the various Republicans, but it's been obvious for a long time (many years) that he really really wants to be president. 2012 could be his best chance to try!
ReplyDeleteAs the Republican presisdential candidates continue to make fools of themselves, "The Donald" continues to drop not-so-subtle hints that he may run as an Independent if he believes that the Republican nominated cannot defeat President Obama. And it certainly looks like the Republican condenders are self destructing!
ReplyDeleteWell, yesterday "The Donald" officially cancelled the much publicized debate he was going to hold and moderate for the Republican presidential candidates, stating that he wanted to avoid a possible conflict of interest in case he did eventually decide to run for president as an Independent. That was really only "Trump spin" to the fact that only 2 candidates were going to attend the "great" debate and the debate itself had turned into a national joke, just like The Apprentice being touted as the nations number 1 TV show.
ReplyDeleteWith this latest PR debate fiasco by "The Donald" and his continued comments during TV interviews about how important the 'birther' issue was and still is, "The Donald" has only demonstrated that he is as much of a clown as the other Republican candidates and has pretty much destroyed any possible chance he might have had to run successfully as an Independent.
So now "The Donald" has officially changed his voter registration in New York from Republican to Independent "in order to preserve his right to run for president as an independent if he's not satisfied with who the Republicans nominate." Is "The Donald" dumping the Republican party or just reacting to the Republicans dumping him by not wanting to attend the debate he wanted to moderate and by no longer paying homage by visiting him in New York. "The Donald" might have had a chance next year, especially with the Republican field and people's disenchantment with Obama, but his big mouth and attempts at grandstanding have turned a lot of people off!
